Lodgepole Campground is located in the breathtaking Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in central California's rugged Sierra Nevada range. Lodgepole is perched on the banks of the scenic and lengthy Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, at an elevation of 6.7 ft. This is an incredible campsite close to several good hikes and the giant forest. My only complaint is the bathrooms are pretty disgusting. No soap and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time - not great considering the the number of people using them. I would consider bringing your own soap.

Great campsite! It was right by the restrooms but just far enough away to not feel bothered by the noise or light. There was a downed tree in front of the site and some trees around making it feel more private.

I camped in the walk-up tent area. The access was great - you could drive within 100 ft of most of the sites. Each of the sites had a bear box, and a BBQ grill. There were extra at the entrance as well. The main lodge had a nice cafeteria, a general store with most of the essentials, and camping gear if you forgot anything. The store was great! There were tons of amenities including a laundry and shower. We even had deer walk up within 25 paces of the campsite. They had a few bathrooms for men and women and the men's side was very clean. Great location and great site.

Camp sites are a bit closer than expected. Be courteous of your neighbors as your voice will travel.
Bathroom worked, wasn’t too bad!
Cell service - Verizon service worked but ATT does not.
Lodge was great, free wifi. Showers worked but don’t expect hot water all the time.

The park is beautiful. We were disappointed that the Dorst Creek Campground was closed all season. Also we went the week of Labor Day and the ALL of the shuttle busses shut down on Tuesday with no warning. We also wanted to see Crystal Cave and that was also shut down. The park is beautiful and we did enjoy our stay in Lodgepole Campground. We will hopefully return again someday with our grandkids.

Beautiful site on the edge of the campground. Great views and privacy as well as view of the sky at night. The bathroom was pretty messy but honestly I blame guests who left garbage everywhere. The trail by the creek was lovely.

Campeggio inserito in una location fantastica, in mezzo alla foresta, a due passi dal centro visitatori. Le piazzole sono larghe, con panca e zona barbecue. Per ogni loop c'è almeno una fontana per l'acqua potabile ed una struttura con i bagni pubblici.
I bagni purtroppo li abbiamo trovati abbastanza sporchi e malandati, peccato. Conviene utilizzare quelli presenti al visitor center, dove ci sono anche le docce a pagamento. In ogni loop c'è anche il lavello per poter lavare le stoviglie da campeggio.

  • If your campsite remains vacant for 24 hours after your arrival date it will be cancelled and made available on rec.gov. You will be charged for the first night's campsite fee and a $20 cancellation fee, all other fees after that will be refunded. Recreation.gov policies apply to all reservations, cancellations, refunds and date changes.&nbsp; Call (559) 565-4404 if you will be arriving 24 hours after your arrival date so your site won't be cancelled. To leave a message call (559) 565-3714.Upon making a campground reservation: Site occupants agree to follow ALL campground rules. Failure to comply may result in a fine. You are responsible for your guests.&nbsp;
  • Quiet Hours 10pm to 6am- Music, talking, and generators should not be audible beyond your immediate campsite. Unreasonable noise is prohibited any time of day.
  • Tire Chains may be required at any time. Be prepared at any time of year for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Check Road Conditions at nps.gov/seki . Vehicles longer than 22 feet (including trailers) are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum. Visitors with vehicles over 22 feet in total length hoping to visit the Giant Forest or camp at Lodgepole and Dorst Creek Campgrounds are advised to enter via the northern, Highway 180, entrance to these parks.
  • Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.  Falling Objects - Don't linger under dead, cracked, or broken branches. Run if you hear cracks or snapping from tree roots, trunks, or branches (know that sometimes there is no sound, and very little time to react). Report falling branches or trees to a ranger.
  • A California state fishing license is required to fish in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Sequoia National Forest lakes and streams. Fishing licenses may be available at National Park and National Forest markets.
