Standard campground - not a ton of shade, but some sites are near the river. Nice to have running water/flush toilets, but quiet hours were not respected either of the two nights I stayed and was not enforced. Possibly no camp host - but people yelling/partying/generators running quite late into the night.

We were fortunate to find 2 nights available on an August weekend and weren't picking about the site itself. Although the campers across from us continued to use their generator at all hours of the night and my wire finally got up and out of the tent after midnight and banged on their camper door to plead with them to turn it off, they complied. But there didn't seem to be a camp host anywhere within the camp so we couldn't take it up or buy firewood like we expected to with the host. All in all the campsite was spacious and bathrooms were decent although it would be nice to have a light inside.

Overall pretty good experience. Cool river water is a welcome respite from pretty warm weather. Doesn’t seem like restrooms are maintained as well as in the past. Not sure if it’s staff shortage or apathetic employees.
Had contact with two rangers on separate occasions. Older guy was amiable and seemed eager to provide pertinent camp protocol, etc.
The other was quite rude. Fellow camper pitched a tent on a site clearly marked “available for one night only”. In a huff, the ranger took down the sign and told camper to vacate, that the site was reserved. In the five days we were there at the campground, no one occupied that particular site.
Bear sightings on four separate occasions. Easily dispersed with a bit of noise. Noobs rely on car alarms which were pretty annoying.
Don’t feed the bears, people. That sentence takes on a whole new meaning without the comma, don’t you think?

Nice campground surrounded by the mountains. Campsite 42 is mostly sunny with some trees near the parking space where you can put your tent to have some shade late afternoon. It was one of the noisier campground we’ve been in Kings Canyon due to large groups (>20 people per site) listening to loud music late in the night. Due to this, there were waiting lines at the restroom most of the time.

Beautiful views, plenty of shade and space. Bears are active but never mess with our tents

Lovely campground with plenty of space between sites, easy access to bathroom and water and a dishwashing sink.
