Flat enough that it was comfortable for tents. Shovel for fire pit ashes was nearby, a little more of a walk for the spigot. Got to see some gnarly beetles. There are no lights so make sure you have an map of the place if you're around at night. Pretty quiet on our side of the campground but we walked by some people picking a fight with their neighbours one night. The other night, we heard three different car alarms go off, with honks and horns going at it. Guessing something attracted a bear visitor.

Lovely large campsite among the pines! And no cell or internet!! It was fantastic to be in the park - about 10 minutes from Roads End, enabling getting early starts for hikes.
Water spigot nearest the site didn't work. Bathroom was a longer walk than we would have liked, was not in very good shape, and had no lights.

It was fine but the cell service was nonexistent. The flush toilets and sinks were a big plus though! Would recommend

Such a beautiful camp site! Real toilets, sinks, and a convenience store within a 5 minute drive. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this site. I love this Kings Canyon NP!

Great campsite to get close to key things in Kings Canyon National Park. The bathrooms were not cleaned often but did have running water and a spot to clean dishes. The potable water was available. There are bears so be aware but they are black bears so be mindful of food and be ready to scare them off. Campsite 35 didn't have a flat space for a tent so definitely had some back issues. There are not tent pads on the campsites so that's something to be aware of. Otherwise, decent spot.

Loved Moraine campground, no overnight ranger but they do upkeep the campground through the day. Beautiful and serene area. Campsite does get hot during the day as there is not a lot of shade.

Such a beautiful area, can see mountains from our campgrounds and trees everywhere. Campfires short metal rim but have grill attached for easy cooking. Bathrooms not far, no showers but a short walk to the creek for you to rinse off. Stayed 2 nights and saw bear each night and another one during our day hike. Super close to Roads End where there's easy parking and access to so many trail heads. We did mist falls and it was incredible!! Wonderful experience, will be back.

It was our first time at this campground and we really enjoyed our stay. The campground was well kept and clean even though there was no camp host on site. The area in and around the camp site was beautiful. My wife and I kept busy exploring the surrounding area. The only minor thing was the weather was pretty toasty the weekend we were there. Of course, that's no fault of the campground. We'll just have to pick a cooler time of year next time. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

From Fresno, CA, follow California State Highway 180 East to Cedar Grove. Moraine Campground is located on the left (north) side of the road .75 miles east of Cedar Grove. Vehicles over 22 feet are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum when entering through Sequoia National Park. Vehicles over 22 feet should use the Kings Canyon National Park Entrance.
Moraine Campground is accessible via California State Highway 180, which leads east from Fresno to Cedar Grove.

General
- If your campsite remains vacant for 24 hours after your arrival date it will be cancelled and made available on rec.gov. You will be charged for the first night's campsite fee and a $10 cancellation fee, all other fees after that will be refunded. Recreation.gov policies apply to all reservations, cancellations, refunds and date changes. Call (559) 565-3792 if you will be arriving 24 hours after your arrival date so your site won't be cancelled. Upon making a campground reservation: Site occupants agree to follow ALL campground rules. Failure to comply may result in a fine. You are responsible for your guests.
- Quiet Hours 10pm to 6am- Music, talking, and generators should not be audible beyond your immediate campsite. Unreasonable noise is prohibited any time of day.
- Tire Chains may be required at any time. Be prepared at any time of year for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Check Road Conditions at nps.gov/seki. Vehicles longer than 22 feet (including trailers) are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum. Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible. Falling Objects- Don't linger under dead, cracked, or broken branches. Run if you hear cracks or snapping from tree roots, trunks, or branches (know that sometimes there is no sound, and very little time to react). Report falling branches or trees to a ranger. A California state fishing license is required to fish in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Sequoia National Forest lakes and streams. Fishing licenses may be available at National Park and National Forest markets.
