Campsite is a tad further away than the parking spot as previously stated however it’s an awesome large spot. Creek runs through the back of it and plenty of shade. Local to a spigot, bathrooms and dumpster

The complete lack of WiFi at national park campgrounds is ridiculous.

Lovely spot deep in kings canyon. Gorgeous tree coverage and relatively close to the water. There’s a ranger station with a little amphitheater that put on education, which was pretty neat. Just across the short bridge from a store with plenty of odds and ends in case you forgot something or need snacks.

Many unused camping sites even though on Rec.Gov.showed reserved.Ranger assistants only checked once in 6 days my reservation but same sites stayed vacant all week so obviously they were not being reported as no-shows. This is a third year in a row. I have noticed a 33% vacancy rate.

Not too crowded as of a Friday night. Quiet despite being next to the road. Campsite is LARGE. Woodpeckers and others can be observed from very close. Unfortunately, all the restrooms do not have any lights, hence the one missing star.

Stayed here the night before our backpacking trip from Road’s End. Not my ch of atmosphere (granted it was very hot summer day), but very convenient with running water and proximity to the market at Cedar Lodge.

Campsites were generally good with distance between sites, which was really comfortable as opposed to other campsites and other national parks

The campsite is spacious and quite nice, close to the nice river that one can cool off on hot days. Even Though we had to book it 4 months in advance, there was plenty of empty sites that did not get occupied during our 3 days weekend stay.
Women bathroom requires attention. The sink was out of service and the flush were not working properly.
We had 3 bears visiting us on Sunday early morning. One of them got stocked in the dumpster that was left unlocked by a fellow camper. Please take all the safety and regulation regarding food and garbage very very seriously.

great experiece, most beautiful place we have ever camped as a family, only downside is camping with 4 kiddos at a "bear box" site is a lot of work taking things out and putting them away, but worth it!

From Fresno, CA, follow California State Highway 180 East to Cedar Grove. Sentinel Campground is located on the left (north) side of the road in the village.
Sentinel Campground is accessible via Kings Canyon Scenic Byway, which connects to CA-198 approximately 25 miles to the west.

- Campsites will be cancelled if vacant for 24 hours after arrival; first night's fee and a $10 cancellation fee apply.

- Used propane tanks must be taken home for proper disposal; do not leave them in the park.
