What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

Spent 4 nights here. Beautiful location and the campground has awesomely huge sites, but there was absolutely zero presence from the rangers despite the ranger station being literally right next door. Which was alarming and frustrating, because every night included multiple sites getting visits from bears and/or obscenely crowded sites partying well past midnight.

Great location for a night before the Rae Lakes loop from Road's End. Bathrooms and campsites were clean. No complaints!

The sites we acquired were the best in the camp...have been trying to get those sites for a couple years now and finally beat out the crowd. We had a wonderful time, weather was great, and had visiting bears every night (same mother and cubs each time). We knew we had nothing to worry about since we didn't leave anything out, but they did pass through and made some noise "looking around". Due to our noise-making (as instructed to do) I believe we frightened the cubs up the tree, so we had to wait a bit for them to come down before Mama bear felt relaxed enough to leave our camp. It was quite the experience!
Thank you again for a great time, BEARS and all!! See you next year!!

Beautiful campsite filled with pine trees and good bathroom/trash/water amenities plus proximity (walking distance) to a flowing river. 5 mins drive from Roaring River Falls and 10 from Road End with access to more hiking. We really enjoyed our time at this campsite.

Please cancel your reservation iIf you’re not coming! That way other campers can occupy that bbjsite! As a camper without a reservation I was very frustrated that I couldn’t reserve one of the empty sites along the river. All the prime sites had been reserved online but not one showed. up. Happens all the time.
