Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

The men's bathroom was always ridiculously dirty. That unfortunately is just the disgusting visitors not necessarily the campground. But that was the only issue we had.

Amazing and beautiful.
Pros:
no crowds, quiet
very large site, fit two med-lrg tents
creek on the backside with view of a little waterfall
near the river
peaceful sounds of river/creek
restrooms were very clean and other campers were not messy in the restroom or dishwashing sink
rangers were friendly and helpful, did their rounds 1X or more per hour
close to fabulous hiking trails
neighbor campers were friendly and respectful
super fun and exciting time at night with the bear activity
showers working and market was convenient, employees welcoming
Cons:
very competitive to reserve a site on recreation.gov and they get booked in less than one second of being available, yet many sat empty
Although Sentinel/Cedar Grove were closed for almost two years, the NPS did a great job clearing the campground of MANY downed trees, getting the plumbing and water functioning, fixing the roads, and repairing the main trails. So happy they made it happen for Summer '24.
Heading back in a few weeks to close the season. Love it!

Noisy at night with everyone honking their horns at all hours of the night. They need to stop this

We only stayed one night, but we enjoyed it. The facilities worked really well, especially for being in a remote area of the park. The campground was busy, but everyone was respectful. The ranger was very nice and they do nightly presentations for campers. I personally loved the adjustable cooking grates on the fire pits. Lots of bugs. Very warm both say and night right now. Did not even make a fire at night. Too hot. Bears are common but nothing to fret over.
