What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

We had an amazing experience at this campground and can’t wait to come back next year! The sites are spacious and private, which made for a peaceful stay. We even had a visit from a few curious bear cubs, which was such a memorable surprise. It was a chilly weekend when we went, so we’re excited to return in the summer to enjoy the water. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

A fantastic place to sleep under the cedars. Great bathrooms, sites, and location is quite beautiful. Close to the market, showers, etc as well.

Like several park campgrounds, there is no possibility of any walk up or on site reservations at Sentinel. Even if the campground is half empty, you have to access recreation.gov and reserve and pay on line. Problem is that there is zero cell or data service meaning an onerous 2 hour up and back drive back up Highway 180 to access a signal. So if you are there 3 nights for example, and you wanted to add another night in an obviously not fully booked campground, you have to drive tht 2 hours to add one night. I find this unacceptable trend for no money transfers on site, which I understand, however if parks and campgrounds go this route, they need to provide access to Internet/WIFI on site. Get a StarLink set up and add a hotspot for people to access reservations. Just my 2 cents..

Beautiful campgrounds, sites spaced out nicely instead of right next to one another. Site 53 is shaded with big trees and is next to the meadows. Mama bear and two cubs visited our site at 10pm. We didn't have any food sitting out, so we weren't concerned. Neighbors, however, were freaked out and honked their horns for over 15 mins!
