What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

The local store closes at 6, so if you plan to buy locally sourced firewood there keep that in mind. We arrived at 7pm and would have missed out on a first night campfire but fir the generosity of our campsite neighbors. A ranger or camp host was nowhere to be seen. Senteniel did have close proximity to the ranger station and when we visited in the morning the ranger was very friendly.

Great campground, kids and I were testing out camping and they had a blast. River is close by with many areas for kids to wade. Close to tons of hikes and end of the road swimming spot. Grizzly falls is nearby for a nice lunch spot as well.

Beautiful site. Two other campgrounds were closed so lower than normal amounts of people was very nice. Great hiking and the Kings river one minute away. Will be back!

It was frustrating trying to get a spot using Recreation.gov. I was finally able to get a spot at our favorite camping ground but only because someone canceled. Cedar grove needs a dump station.

We made a reservation in advance to stay 2 nights at Sentinel Campground in King's Canyon. Our 1st campsite was ready when we arrived. The loop for the 2nd campsite was closed, & staff said it wouldn't open until noon the next day, which was inconvenient as we wanted to go hiking in the a.m., but had to wait around to move to the 2nd site.
Also, not all of the campgrounds and toilets were open even though the demand was there in mid-May 2021. A friend who hoped to get a site the 2nd night wasn't able to & had to leave the park.
Other than that, the park is beautiful, and we enjoyed the hikes to Roaring River & Mist Falls.
