What Guests Are Saying
Sheep Creek Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with spacious, well-maintained sites close to the South Fork of the Kings River. Campers appreciate the scenic drive, clean facilities, and friendly park personnel, making it an excellent base for hiking and exploring the area. While there are no garbage bins on-site and some wish for shower access, the overall experience is highly rated, with many eager to return.

Great spot to set up camp. Cool evenings with the huge overhead of trees. Right on the Kings River and an easy set up to get down. I'd recommend bringing your bike to ride over to the village nearby. Showers are indeed closed down for the season. The drive up from Sequoia National Park is tremendous and the views from within this Canyon are fantastic. There is some construction going on nearby Sheep Creek, seemed to only be between late morning to early evening.

Great location, right next to the river but it is an hour from the other main attractions. That is the only drawback.

I love Sheep Creek. I have been going there for over 50 years and feel a bit protective of it... But, the park service can only blame so much on the pandemic. First, the bathrooms were the filthiest I have EVER seen a National Park bathroom. Obviously not being cleaned AT ALL. Hey, don't open a campground 100% if you have no ability to maintain it. Second, there was a campfire ban in the campground. We, sadly, observed that ban. However, 1/4 the campground did not. And, the rangers were driving through, ignoring the campfires, not even getting out of their truck. Really?
Kings Canyon WAS hot, but there is much river to cool in. BUT, National Park Service, you are not taking care of my park!!!

- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee.
