What Guests Are Saying

Alpine Meadow Campground is a quiet and well-maintained site with beautiful surroundings, spacious campsites, and close proximity to Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Many visitors appreciate the clean facilities, friendly camp hosts, and access to scenic trails and a small lake. While some noise from the nearby airport and occasional maintenance issues with the bathrooms were noted, the overall experience remains positive, making it a favored spot for campers.

The campground is located in a very beautiful meadow with a fantastic view of snow-clad mountains. However, the serenity was rather frequently interrupted by passing aircraft (jets, helicopters, crop-dusters) due to the proximity to the Truckee airport; it wasn't too annoying, but did hinder the sense of the wilderness - the only reason for the 4 stars. The sites are very affordable and well-maintained, potable water is close and readily available; firewood is accessible, restrooms are stocked and are as clean as a vault toilet can get. There was no soap though, so don't forget to bring your own one.

I love this campground! It is very peaceful. The camp hosts are very nice to deal with and very helpful. A couple things to know is that this is NOT a swimming lake and NOT for any kind of gas powered boats. Be sure to go see Donner Lake and museum of the Donner Party.

Quiet and clean campground. Large camp sites. Running water on bathrooms- although pit toilets. Water also provided for drinking was really good as well.

Campground located in a beautiful location with a gravel road leading to Martis Creek Lake. The airport is nearby so noise from planes can be heard. Bathrooms were clean but dated.

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.

    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
