What Guests Are Saying

Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

It’s a beautiful, quiet park with gorgeous pine trees. The only thing that would’ve made it better was if there had been access to potable water.

Campground is nice and we were there the first day of opening season and the campground was not ready. The fresh water spigots at the camp entrance were not working and I couldn’t get any water. That was a major issue.

What a wonderful little hidden gem. Shhhhhh. Don’t tell anyone else about this place. The campground was very well maintained. No hook-ups, (no problem) spacious sites and easy access to all. Some of the sites are a bit different - it’s just a pull- off on the road and then your camp site is right out your door. We had one of these (#18), and I was a bit suspicious of how it was going to work out. It was great! Would be perfect if you were tent camping. Lots of space around table, fire pit and socializing area. I’d reserve this site again. My only wish —- is that there was a dump station at the facility. We’ll be back next year. My new favorite “close” campground.

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.

    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
