What Guests Are Saying
Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

This is beyond compare the cleanest camp ground I have stayed in. No red dirt or dust. The pea gravel around the camp site was great. It was so easy to park and set up my trailer as the parking area was level. The bathrooms were clean. Other than being the typical vault toilets they had 3 stalls with one being handy capped accessible (high seat & grab bars). The big plus was: They both had running water, soap, paper towels and an electrical outlet. There where rocked & cleared pathways from each camp site to the bathrooms. Portable water available to fill up upon arrival and drinking fountains throughout the loop.
The campground is small and quiet out in a sage brush meadow with enough pine trees to afford ample shade.
The "lake" wasn't much more than a pond this time of the year but my dog enjoyed swimming. Just a short drive into Truckee or over to Tahoe.
I would like to keep this campground a secret.

This campground is pretty secluded, set away from the highway there is nothing around. Very quiet the entire time we stayed 4 nights. Every campsite looked about same, I like they are spread apart from each other. No idea why this says waterfront site, theres no water.

We love this spacious un crowded campground, near a river and a meadow,
It’s is still near all amenities and the city.

Lovely campground, and didn't have much noise from the airport or trains. Very quiet at night. As mentioned elsewhere, sites 10 and 11 have great views out over the valley, with level spacious areas. Vault toilets only, and the ceiling light wasn't working, so take a flashlight. Nice walk down to the lake to stretch my and pup's legs.
