What Guests Are Saying
Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

Getting there was a little tricky. We had to ask a few people along the way but eventually found the campsite.
We watched a YouTube video of the campsite so once we got there it was easy enough to locate our site and set up. It was safe, the restrooms were close by, and everyone was friendly. People waved when they passed by. Railey’s was five minutes away.
From our campsite 8 ( no one was at 7 ) we could see the water. Planes would occasionally fly over head and drop the gliders so that was cool to see. At night the stars were gorgeous. On the second night we heard coyotes throughout the night. There was a bear locker for food, and the trash was also bear proof.
Place felt safe, and clean. I would definitely go there again!

Nice Campground, except the toilet. Wind brings the smell. Flush toilet would make it more attractive.

Wonderful campground! It was quiet the whole time we were there. We enjoyed fishing at Martis Lake and caught several perch. We also saw a baby bear roam through the site next to ours. It was a magical experience.

Will schedule return. Large well kept sites. Great location. Easy access. Quiet. Met very nice campers. Disappointed that fires were allowed in rings despite severe smoke snd burning restrictions.
