This is a wonderful campground with nice open views of the meadow and shade for hot afternoons. Usually not crowded and a quiet place to stay the night.
The trail across from the main road has a nice mix of forest, creeks, and meadow. There is an option to stay on an all paved trail for those who bike. Definitely will return to this spot!

Quiet, scenic campsite with occasional noise from planes at the Truckee airport, but it wasn’t too loud. Appreciated that most of the campsites are spaced far apart from each other on the loop.

A nice place to camp for access to outdoor recreation between Tahoe and Truckee. It's not close enough to walk or ride bikes anywhere, but not far enough to feel like you're getting away...

This is our go to on our way to the Eastern sierras every fall. It’s a nice quiet place with a small lake and a good hiking/biking trail nearby too.

Nice quiet campground. I go almost every year after Labor Day. The weather is generally beautiful, with some Sierra mountain surprises. Mornings can be under 30 degrees, and days can be breezy, stormy, or simply lovely. There is potable water available, trash AND recycling. It's location next to the airport is a non-issue. Planes come and go throughout the day, but not continuously. I would give it an excellent review except by this time of the summer, the vault toilets don't seem to be pumped out enough, and I tend to wear a medical mask to use the toilets because of the odor. There is a sink / water as well as an electrical plug in the restroom, and they are well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and anti-bacterial soap. Nice location to the town of Truckee, lots of trails from the level and beautiful paved walkway along the Truckee River, to Alpine Meadows and Palisades summer hiking trails that are more challenging. Tahoe is just over the hill.

Very privately spaced sites, very quiet and peaceful. You will hear planes occasionally from the airport nearby, but this beats having close and noisy neighbors by a long shot.
