Nice campsite, clean restrooms. Very short drive to either Truckee or Lake Tahoe. Only gripe is that if your site is near the road you get lots of highway noise, esp during the day.

Great location- easy access to Truckee, Donner Lake, Squaw etc. Although the campground is right off Hwy 89 the road noise was really not noticeable. Mostly we could hear the river. The sites were large and well shaded, but not very private. Pit toilets and only one water spigot near the campground host. The river is pretty, but was far too deep and fast moving for kids to play in.

Brought our 5 & 6 year old sons here for their first camping trip.
We only stayed for 2 nights, but it was a perfect place to introduce them to "roughing it".
The campsites were spacious and quite far from each other - while we were there a group of campers were at the site directly diagonal from us and we could not hear them at all.
The Truckee River was a pretty rocky/active spot in the river and there weren't too many places to really stop and look - we found a couple of rocks to sit on and the boys were totally fine with it.
We had great cell service.
We purchased more firewood there.
Not too much to do, but very peaceful and beautiful - again - perfect place to introduce our boys to camping.

Really nice campground. It's a small campground with only 25 sites or so which offers some seclusion from everyone else and the sites are huge. I would definitely come back here. Although it's near the road, I didn't really hear any traffic, just the river. Had site 19 and really liked it.

l just luv the campground! Plenty of space. There is traffic noise but the beauty and the Truckee river more than make up for it. I might add the camp host is the greatest. He is very nice and runs the campground very efficiently.
