I took my family to Goose Meadows and we all loved it! Furthest campground from the road on 89, beat decision to come here. We stayed in South 21 and definitely plan to come back again to the same exact site. There was so much space, we fit two 10 person tents, a 3 person tent, a 10x10 pop up, two hammocks, and had so much space still. This space particularly had a path that led directly to the best spot to relax on the river. Great for the kids, and even our dog who loves to swim. Watch for large crawdads, the kids loved seeing them. The toilets were vault, but kept very clean. The air fresheners kept a lot of the smell away, just dark in the restroom if you don’t bring a light. No hand or dish washing stations. Just a water spout by the host site where you can fill containers, but not drinkable. The sound of cars on 89 were easily drowned out by the rush of the river. Overall, we had a great time, and everyone was very nice.

Loved the campground, clean and our sites were spaced out. You can hear cars from the road though. Had a wonderful time!

This was our third time staying at Goose Meadows and was as wonderful as always. I almost hate to leave a review because this is such a nice, quiet campground I’d hate anything to change. The site we stayed in this time was very spacious and afforded our small group of four some privacy and distance from neighbors. Easy walk down to the river for morning coffee with a view and afternoon swims to cool down. Bathroom was immaculately clean and fellow campers knew to keep the lids down so there was zero smell. Bear box was clean and shareable. Fire ring has a grate for cooking. Close to amenities if you want them and far enough removed to avoid them. Yes, there is road noise but we were close enough to the river it all blended together. Will return year after year.

Goose Meadows is our favorite place to camp with kids near Tahoe! While not remote by any means, it is right on the Truckee River and it’s so nice to stroll down to with the little ones!

Second stay here. Beautiful spot though a tad close to the road. Our site had a great little view of the Truckee river out the back.

Great location! Friendly personnel, campfire is allowed. We stayed here to go river, rafting it took us 15 minutes driving to reach the jump off area.

The campground is small and cute. We usually prefer a more remote location but we were in between the parks, so this little campground was convenient and provided good shelter for the night. A busy road is next to the campground, so cars passing by are noticeable. Bathrooms were decently clean; no faucets or running water in the bathrooms. Plenty of water from water spouts around the campground.

We recently stayed in site #19-(South loop) & had stayed in site #8-(North loop) before. We had the same problem at both sites, they have too much of a slope to them for our trailer to get decently leveled. And since the sites are 'pull through type' sites, the slide out on our trailer necessitated us to go as close to the bollards as possible to avoid having our slide out getting hit by passing traffic. Since the host was off the first day of our arrival (and the second), other campers were driving too fast for the gravel road and kicking up a lot of dust while driving by, even though there were signs advising people to drive slow through the campground. It's a beautiful campground but could use some road grading to allow the sites to be a little less sloped and maybe chip seal the main road through the camp to get the dust down. Thanks
