Beautiful spot to camp - right next to the river and 10 minutes from Donner Lake. The bathrooms were the cleanest camping bathrooms I've ever been in and the site was quite and well kept. Will definitly be back!

Great if you pick a site away from the road. Lots of shade and easy river access along with convenient location to the lake or truckee.

In campsite 2,

Pros: close to the bathroom, it was flat so it wasn’t hard to pitch our large tent, night sky was beautiful, pet friendly

Cons: there was tons of ants and ant hills, it was super close to the freeway, so it was constantly loud, and there was no river access unfortunately.

This campground was very close to the river and provided some magical natural white noise! Very clean and lovely place!

We like Good Meadows. But, you do have road noise from highway 89, and there are no showers or flush toilets or sinks.

Bring your own water, the water for the week we were there was NOT POTABLE and we were warned via email while we were there.

Bring your own wood as the ranger did not have any for sale.

Great campground! It’s far enough away from the highway that traffic wasn’t loud, and it’s right next to the Truckee River! Although if you’re planning on a river float, I’d recommend doing the portion from Tahoe City to River Ranch lodge a little further south because the river right next to the campground has some rapids. Tahoe city is about 15 minutes down the road via car for closest access to Lake Tahoe. Also note that there is currently no potable water at the campground.
