nice big campsites. was actually a bit too spread out in 18 with our trailer being confined to the designated parking. Overall great spot tho. some hwy noise but if you can get a spot by the river the hwy is mostly drowned out. great location for going between truckee, olympic/squaw valley, and tahoe. mens long drop wasn't too bad! i think folks knew to keep the lid closed.

Stayed in Site #8. It was mid-week and near the end of summer. So not very active during the day or night. Rented a 16' trailer through Airbnb. It was dropped off, so the site worked well as a 'pull-through'. Throughout my two-day stay, I enjoyed the easy access to the river. Didn't need the restroom. The site host never bothered me, but he was present and appeared to be very attentive. The site was perfect—quiet, peaceful, and full of solitude. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Goose Meadow Campground is a gem tucked close to town, yet it offers the solitude and natural beauty that any angler would appreciate The campsites are all solid, but I staked my claim on one that backs right up to the Truckee River. It was the perfect spot to cast a line at dawn, with trout practically jumping out of the water. The restroom looked newly painted and clean, just what you need after a long day on the river. This place has all the makings of a great camp, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates good fishing and a well-kept site.

Great campground in the Sierra Nevada.. Stayed at Site 22, in Mid July. No problem with bugs, very nice campsite with a large bear box and fire ring. We just stayed overnight on a pass thru, but this is a great overall location to experience the North Lake Tahoe area. Truckee is a 5-7 minute drive, with great dining and shopping options. Tahoe City is a short drive, as is the Donner Pass area, which is not to be missed. Clean pit toilets a short walk to the river if you want to take a dip.
