The restrooms are clean, with toilet paper always stocked, and the water is not freezing cold, even in the winter! It isolated from most of the other hikes/campsites in the park, but there are a few hikes in the area. Great for stargazing!! I recommend checking out the campsite on Google Maps first to see if the area in the campsite is big enough for your tent(s) first though; not all sites have a big clear area, especially for 6-person tents.

Cottonwood is a very nice campground. It would be perfect if it had hot showers. Self check-in was a bit confusing and all the sites are marked reserved even if free. The rangers do not seem to have access to the reservation system.
