This site would have gotten five stars but there were several guests who didn’t understand how to abide by the generator use hours.

The mine site is interesting, and take the trail further ~25 yards beyond for a great view of the Salton Sea. If you are going to the mine from the campground, the trail will fork left and right without a signpost. Take the right trail.

The mine site is interesting, and take the trail further ~25 yards beyond for a great view of the Salton Sea. If you are going to the mine from the campground, the trail will fork left and right without a signpost. Take the right trail.

Nice campsites, lots of space, great stargazing! About a 30 minute drive away from the main attractions in the park. I liked staying at this campground in a quieter area, and visiting the busier parts of the park during the day.

The park headquarters address is not the physical address of the campground. To get to the campground, take Interstate 10 to the I-10 exit 168 Mecca/Twentynine Palms exit and follow signs to Joshua Tree National Park. The exit is 25 miles east of Indio, California.
