What Guests Are Saying
Indian Cove Campground offers a beautiful setting surrounded by stunning rock formations, making it ideal for families and friends. Campsites are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with fire pits and picnic tables, with easy access to water nearby. While some sites are close together and noise from activities can be disruptive, many visitors appreciate the friendly atmosphere, great climbing opportunities, and breathtaking stargazing at night.

I can’t say this was my favorite camping experience. The campsite was nice and flat plenty of room for our 8 person tent however it was SO windy I don’t think anyone slept well we thought our tent might blow away.
Also apparently they never change out the reserved signs… so when we showed up some regulars at the campground were occupying our campsite rock climbing which was kind of confusing and also uncomfortable. They said that they keep reserved signs on all the sites all the time. Which obviously causes confusion.
There are also no Joshua trees on the campsite or even near it so if you want a true Joshua tree experience maybe try a different spot.
Also found a tarantula under our tent when packing up 😅

It was hot but it's close enough to go the store and get things you forget. It took me 30 min to get to stater bros and back to my campsite.

Clean and non smelly restrooms, beautiful nature, very calm area, sky is full of stars at night. It was our first family trip to desert and we even couldn’t imagine it would be so peaceful, quiet and amazing 🤩

Indian Cove is a minimalistic campground, but the environment is very dramatic. The campsites are small and often nestled against rock walls. Some of the sites ae quite close to others. Don't expect any amenities other than very clean restrooms with pit toilets. Go there to see the fantastic rock formations and to scramble among them. The night sky is dark enough for a glorious view of the Milky Way. If you haven't yet been to Joshua Tree National Park, Indian Cove is a great introduction to nan other-worldly landscape.

9/10 Pretty much had the place to ourselves! Just us, a few jack rabbits, lizards and the towering monzogranite rock formations. Not exactly flat and small area for tent but was well equipped and perfectly situated for excellent star-gazing! Only a bit of shade in the evening and early morning (at least in late August), however.

An excellent spot to go camping, especially if you like bouldering! I have family who does it so definitely gonna recommend it to them!
The breeze helped a lot in keeping cool, the site had some leftover stuff from the previous group but that’s definitely not on the park, and the spot was wonderful to watch the Meteor Shower!
