Many reviewers appreciated the cleanliness of the grounds and active ranger presence, though some noted that the bathrooms require more frequent maintenance. Nice spot, was more leveled than some of the other sites. No shade though and few trees that were spaced out/ couldn’t hang a hammock. Next time will try to get a site closer to the water. We had a fun time at the lake though.

Going off season during the week is like having your own private lake. There's no boat or jet ski noise, no loud awful music, and no loud horrible generators.

Almost all sites are not level. Odd bumper/curbs are in the way of RV steps. And not necessary.

Great location right on the water, compared to those around it this unfortunately has zero shade so bring a tarp or avoid when hot. Felt a little close to the site next to it but all in all a positive experience

Great view, short distance down to shore.
Late afternoon shade. Cooking grate over fire ring. Water faucet nearby.
All four of these adjacent spots are excellent choices.

Campground was nice. No complaints there. Our site in particular was a tad bit small. It was also not cleaned by the previous visitors. There was a trash bag with diapers in it and the firepit had plastic items thrown in it. If the previous visitor had cleaned the site, then our experience would have been much better.

The campsites gave ample space and access to facilities. Spaces have a pole and hook, table and fire ring with a grate. Most spaces, however, were not well leveled. Our picnic table was so sloped that we could not set out fruit or water bottles without them rolling away or falling over. The restrooms and showers were good, though we had lights not working on the men and women's side while we stayed. The showers are oversized and better than most other campsites. A few water spouts are available throughout the site, but the water quality is markedly worse than most campgrounds. The lake is nice and the ground for the tents was nice to sleep on.

Stayed in site 106, first time at the campground. Our camper ('21 Cougar SABWE 24ft) has a single slide and we were very close to not being able to open it, due to the large boulders that lined the driver's side of the driveway. Thankfully, we had about 6-8 inches of clearance on either side of the slide so it worked, but there was essentially a single location in the driveway that made this possible. There is 8-10 inch tall concrete curbing lining the passengers side of the driveway (for reference the spot is a back-in, not pull through), so clearing the curb with the trailer steps was also very tight.
Campground was very clean, visitors and park staff were friendly, and our stay was quiet and relaxing. Site 106 has a beautiful lake view and is about 50 yards from the water. Highly recommend, but maybe visit before to ensure that the site will accommodate your trailer. Fill your fresh tank before getting to the campground!

Site #42 is sandwiched between dumpster and washroom. Not a great one view wise.
Campground was well maintained. Park rangers were kind and friendly.

This was my second time camping here at acorn campground and never disappoints. It’s so beautiful and serene and my family loves it. I appreciate the bathrooms always being cleaned everyday and rangers securing the grounds. I always get the lake view not just for the convenience but the views at sunset are breathtaking. Can’t wait to go back this summer.
