The Santa Cruz Scorpion campground is highly praised for its beauty, tranquility, and the abundance of wildlife, particularly island foxes. Campers appreciate the well-maintained facilities, easy access to hiking trails, and the support from friendly park rangers. However, visitors noted some challenges with campsite congestion and occasional bathroom cleanliness issues, but overall, the experience is described as unforgettable and worth recommending.

The island was absolutely beautiful! Lot of wildflowers. Only rained at night and had a wonderful conversation with Mithra, the ranger on duty. She was so positive and helpful. Loved the visit!

We had an ok stay in the Channel Islands, but wish park staff was more proactive in cleaning pit toilets and maintaining campground trails which were muddy and difficult to traverse.

Great campground in a eucalyptus tree grove. Bathrooms and potable water nearby. Not much privacy between campsites but still delightful!

The whole island was amazing. I recommend hiking Montanon Ridge and Smuggler's Cove. The foxes were adorable and it was great to see all the wildlife on the island. I can't wait to come back soon!

The beauty and quiet of a small campground after day trippers leave can’t be beat. Site 22 is very well shaded which is great for shelter on sunny days but doesn’t bode well for rainy weather as the ground doesn’t dry out and the useable parts of the site are in a slight depression due to trees around the perimeter. Deep mud puddle directly in front of fox box made use a challenge. It does have privacy on one side due to large bush that blocks off the vault toilet and trailhead up the road.

Santa Cruz Island has become a yearly pilgrimage with friends and family to unwind. Its a relatively easy place to feel exceptionally far away from
It all. The boat here is an adventure before you even land on the shore. Camping area is mostly shaded with easy access to two water faucets. Highly recommend a guided sea cave kayaking tour, accessible to most ages (I take my currently 10 year old niece every year). Hike to smugglers cove is worth the effort. Potato harbor is easy to get to. Was here March 12 and there was a decent amount of wild flowers. Great pics!
