This is a great campground. It is a beautiful area, and, for being a relatively large campground, it is quiet. There are some good hiking trails nearby. I like that fact that the campground is a ways away from all the commotion in Yosemite valley but close enough that you can enjoy the valley as well.

Being lucky enough to get a reservation in Yosemite this year (any year) I will say I was happy with this campground. The bathrooms were oddly placed inside the loop drives, seemed like they should have been placed near the end of the loop instead of 2 or three campsites down. Sites are close together, some offer more privacy than others but not much for any that I noticed. Of course when at Yosemite who's going to stay at their campsite for any length of time except for sleeping and eating, just don't expect seclusion. I was thrilled I got to see Yosemite.

Campsites were spacious and clean. Main issue was with other campers (loud music, and an argument between campers at the same site, culminating with a noisy and unpleasant departure at 2AM). The location of the campsite is perfect, close to Glacier Point and Sentinel Dome, lots of trails and beautiful scenery, and about a 1 hour drive down to the Yosemite Valley. Flush toilets and running water, but no showers. Site 61B was great, except there was a very feint odor of the septic system near the parking area (several septic access hatches were in that parking area). The smell was only noticeable when standing by the parking area. I would just be concerned that the smell might impede on the actual campsite if the wind was from the wrong direction. Otherwise no issues. I'd stay there again. You can't control the wildcard of inconsiderate fellow campers, so that's not on the site or host. I'd like to see the camp host empowered to shut down folks who think it's wonderful to go into the woods and share their music with all the other campers at volume 11.

Many great spots to stop and take in the view while driving to the campsite. I stayed at 2 different locations. Spot #42 the first night which I truly enjoyed. Spacious and trees for my hammock. Spot #43 the 2nd night was not so good! Barely fit a 2 person tent which actually backed up right next to spot #45 tent location. What made the campsite great were the Park Rangers. So friendly and took the time to answer questions.

  • Contact park services for further information via phone or website.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.

    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
