Crane Flat Campground

Great campsite still in Yosemite just away from the valley. I’d say about 30 minutes. Much cooler here too. Bathrooms were very clean!

Very noisy people in this area. People up all night so if looking for a quiet camp probably not this one!

This campsite was great and so peaceful.

I love this campground but the bathrooms do need to be cleaner, and we need more counter space. Also, the fact that there are not water spigots other than at the bathrooms should be changed to have a second spigot at the end of each loop (like for the 200 loop, put a spigot by site 212). I appreciate the consideration of these changes if the rangers happen to see this.

Neighboring tents are too close to each other with literally zero privacy…

had an amazing time! beautiful weather compared to the heat in the valley. saw deer and a bear in the meadows behind our site, 215. a lot of sites are small and close together, everyone was quiet at night and friendly during the day.

I reserved two sites for my family and 220 was really nice, ample space. 219- the parking was tight. It is listed as a 2 car parking spot but can barely fit two cars. One of the cars fit entirely on the paved area but for some reason, maybe erosion over time, the parking spot goes from paved to dirt on one side and then goes back to paved on the road. We got a note from the Ranger as a warning because ONE WHEEL was BARELY on the dirt. The front wheel of the passenger side was slightly on the dirt because that part eroded! It was a bit frustrating to see that because 1) it's listed as two cars 2) doesn't fit two cars comfortably 3) fix the part of the parking spot that is eroded then?! I would say if you have a big family and want 220 and need another site- get 222 because they are really close and are closer than 219.

Rangers were great, and helpful! Sites were a bit close, but reasonably sized. Our site was a bit rocky and not all the stakes for our tent would secure into the ground; no serious concerns though. The restrooms were clean, even w/o lights. However, campers were not cleaning up after themselves at the potable water station; signage indicated dishes were not to be cleaned out in the sink. Dumpsters were widely available and well kept / locked. Great campsite IMHO.

The campgrounds were beautiful, with lots of +100’ trees providing quite lovely night sky views! Should note that the squirrels were dropping football sized pinecones from the trees with a BOOM! The mule deer meandering through the camp was also a treat.

PS, Although Yosemite Valley has cell reception (AT&T) there was none at the campgrounds, and the nearest gas station closes at 5pm.
