Crane Flat Campground

The whole area was nice and quiet. A good orientation by the receptionist allowed for everyone to have mutual understandings of how to care for the space.

rangers were friendly on my way in, beautiful campground, bathrooms and facilities were in good condition and taken care of. My site backed up to a another site - a double and the occupants of the other site had tents set right up to my driveway, i was staying in my van and it was not very comfortable , definitely not enough separation between sites - they also had no clue - I arrived and they had food laying out and in the chair cups , they had been gone all day , not sure why a ranger had not scanned it , would think drive through would notice that kind of stuff

Campsites too close together, other campers too loud. Not camp host or ranger around.

Beautiful campground and very helpful host. Unable to check for additional time available there due to no internet access and call to recreation.gov representative gave us sites that were nonexistent.

We loved staying at Crane flat. Our host Stevie was awesome.

Great location and quiet!

Site 420 is easily one of the best spots in the campground! It sits at the edge of the campground with wilderness right behind it, which gives it a nice sense of privacy. Nights were peaceful and silent and deer visited us regularly, which was a bonus!
There's comfortable distance between sites. The bathrooms are nearby without being too close. No showers, but there's a water spigot right at the bathroom building. We stayed two nights, two couples with one small tent each, and there was still room for a third tent comfortably.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The campground is well located: close to the Valley (about 40 minutes driving), but with enough distance to actually enjoy some quiet and nature. Would definitely return!

Great location, away from the madness of The Valley, but close enough to get down there whenever you like. Spectacular views from Big Oak Flat Road, and easy access to the entire Tioga Road high country, as well as Yosemite Valley. There's even a gas station and small store nearby. The staff at Crane Flat were terrific, friendly and helpful, with knowledgeable suggestions about the hiking trails and places to see. Up in the high country, the weather did turn cold (even a little snow!) at the end of May, but that's how weather goes in the mountains. Yosemite is must-see, and Crane Flat is a great place to stay while seeing her.

First time camping in Yosemite and this campground was awesome! It’s located within the park and around 30 minutes from Curry Village and all of the popular hikes. Each campsite comes with a fire ring with a small grill portion, and a large bear box that fit our cooler and suitcase, with room to spare. Quiet hours are from 10pm-6am, and campers adhered to that during our stay.

Our specific site (105) was great! It had enough shade during the day due to the trees, and was close to the entrance and a restroom. Also, although the campsites are fairly close together, this site felt a bit more private due to the large boulders. Highly recommend! Ps. The restrooms had TP and were actually very clean! However, they did not have soap or paper towels/hand dryer, so don’t forget to bring your own!

We got a group site and despite the sq ft of camp, the usable space was un even and difficult to set tents on. Once you got past that ... it was wonderful. We had deer in our site every morning. The pasture behind our site was heavenly. The campground was quiet and well maintained. I'd highly recommend the 300 loop of Crane Flats to anyone looking for something 30 mins from the valley, but considerably less crowded.
