Crane Flat Campground

This was my first time staying in Crane Flats. I absolutely loved it. It is a little drive from the Yosemite Valley, but well worth the stay. I really enjoyed myself. Very affordable. Thank you so much Yosemite Rangers for making my stay beautiful.
Oh, there is plenty of places near Crane Flats to hike. My daughter and her family had a blast’.

The rangers (?) or host at check-in were very knowledgeable and friendly. The facilites were well maintained and I loved my camp site. A deer even came bounding through one afternoon! The campground is super conveniently located, near the gas station/convenience store as well as the junction of two of the main roads. I think next time I'll try to choose a campsite a little further back though, sometimes I could hear cars on the main road. But still, five stars, would 100% camp here again!

The positives: We were able to camp near Yosemite Valley with easy driving access to trailheads. The tent sites were level and smooth.
The negatives: In order to accommodate more campers, the sites are very small, so your neighbors are very close. Most campers chose to have fires which made the air quality very poor. We wore N-95 masks most of the time while in the campground, even while sleeping. The park service should limit or ban campfires when weather conditions prevent campfire smoke from dispersing. The only other issue was that the tent sites were covered with a very powdery, dusty soil, so expect it to get all over you and your gear.

I loved its location close to the gas station and Tioga hwy. it was also not far at all to get to Yosemite Valley! The rangers were so helpful, and kind. We camp here again in the future.

This was a great campsite! We were kind of close to others campers but most of there were respectful of the quiet hours. Very well shaded AND we saw a deer in the morning walking through our site. It made it that more special.

The campsite was well maintained and shaded. The site itself was a little small, but perfect for my solo camping trip. Would definitely rebook this site!
