First time camping, didn't realize the sloped tent area would mean you slide downhill overnight. Also the water spout in the bathroom nearby supposedly has drinkable water but it definately needed to be filtered. We still had a good time camping here.

The folks at the entrance are very nice and informative and made it very easy to feel at home. It is a newly renovated campground so it was very clean. Even the bathrooms and the potable water they have was quite good. Only complaint would be that some campsites are really close to each other so you hear a lot of what your neighbors are saying/doing.

Crane Flats campground was recently reopened after undergoing renovations, and it shows. It is clean, well tended, new bathroom facilities, plenty of space, and ten to twenty degrees cooler than Yosemite Valley. The campsites are a little close together, but there is plenty of room in each campsite for tents and camp chairs in addition to the bear locker, fire pit and picnic table provided. The parking spots are large enough for most cars, and there are trailer and camper specific spots, also. Nice campground, highly recommended.

We had the most beautiful time , crane flat is a great place in between The valley of Yosemite and Tioga pass which it was a blast by enjoying the lakes and of course Tenaya Lake , the only thing is that there is no showers but, the curry village has the public showers and it was a good option and for the extra car in case you are taking 2 cars they have here at this camp the overload parking so I am happy about it
The bathrooms are clean.
The camp site is a little bet close to each other so be prepare to make new friends😊

Our stay at loop 5 site 516 was very pleasant. The tent pad fit just right for our 6 person tent. Any larger of a tent and I don’t think it would’ve worked out well. The parking spot was perfect for our van. The bathrooms were clean and there is a spout outside the bathroom to fill up water if needed. There is a gas station right outside the campsite too. Would definitely come again.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Crane Flat Campground is located 8 miles from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Hwy 120 from the west), and is 17 miles (30 minutes) northwest of Yosemite Valley.
Crane Flat Campground is accessible via Highway 120, which is 8 miles from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station to Yosemite National Park.

General
- You are responsible for reading the site alerts and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment. The campground has had a complete overhaul and every site has changed.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 379-2123; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bring proof of your reservation (screen shot or paper version). There is no internet access, cell service or public phone at Crane Flat.You must sign in at the entrance of the campground or you will be considered a no show and your reservation cancelled.Make your site look occupied--leave a chair or other equipment so we know you've arrived.
- Bears and wildlife live here! Food, scented items and toiletries must be stored 24 hours/day. Absolutely NO food stored in vehicles!Food lockers are provided in all campsites and measure 35 inches deep x 43 inches wide x 28 inches high.Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters or in your locker. Do NOT hang garbage bags in your site!
- No electric, water, or sewer hookups are available at this facility, however, a dump station is located in Yosemite Valley, as are showers.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited.
- There is no electricity and therefore, no lights in this campground. Bring a light source!
