Park rangers were so helpful and friendly. Glad I talked with them about which route to take to Bakersfield. Told me the road I had in mind was not good for an RV.

Didn’t have a great experience at this campground. There wasn’t a flat place to put the tent, the bear box was in a really weird space, basically on the next campsite with a huge log, blocking it from the rest of our campsite. The Park Rangers said that it was installed in the wrong place and I guess they just never fixed that. The bathroom is absolutely terrible. No soap, everything is filthy.
Will not be staying here again:

As usual, the group campground was great! They do have new taller bear boxes so we didn’t have the usual surface area for food prep. We dragged one table right near the bear boxes so it would be easier to prep and cook there. Group A is on a slight incline and later we moved to B which is more even and has more shade. We loved both. Plenty of tables, 4 fire rings, lots of friendly rangers or hosts coming through to check on things or to teach us more about current animal activity. We did see skunks come thru at night twice which was fun! There’s lots of little sticks and pine cones we are allowed to gather for fire and that helped. It’s close to the Crane Flat gas station which is convenient for daily ice and snacks. The drive to the valley is beautiful so it would pass quickly (40 min). It’s also a great starting point to go the other way to Tenaya Lake or Hetch Hetchy. Carlon Falls /creek was only a few minutes away. The hike to the falls was a little more moderate than expected but beautiful and worth it. We took a dip in the creek with the kids.

This was a beautiful and remote spot! 45 min drive to Yosemite valley and 45 min drive to the dam.
The site we were at was at a slant so there wasnt a great spot for our tent.

The campground was beautiful, quiet, and clean. We were in group site D and it had plenty of space for all 7 tents (20 people) for 3 nights of camping. So many close hikes and a beautiful drive into the valley.

I think we had one of the best sites for a small trailer, 092. The tents really seemed to be packed in, being small with no privacy between sites. This campground is a place to sleep, but you will want to get up and into the rest of the park for the day.

We stayed at Campsite 45, and overall it was a great spot. It was close to the bathrooms, quiet, and had plenty of room for us to set up three tents. The only downside was that the campsite has a slight slope, so all three tents ended up a bit slanted. Other than that, we had a great experience and would stay here again.
