About Hodgdon Meadow Campground

Hodgdon Meadow campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The site is 25 miles from Yosemite Valley at an elevation of 4,875 feet. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and much more. Hodgdon Meadow campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The tent area was unfortunately not quite flat, we ended up sleeping on a slight slope and I ended up crumpled at the base of the tent both nights. Other than that, good site. Bathrooms were decent.

This campground was a great location to start our visit to Yosemite. We stayed at this campsite for one night in between our visit to Hetch Hetchy and Yosemite Valley. Our site felt pretty private despite being close to the entrance.

Camped here for the first time for my birthday and I really enjoyed it. The rangers are really nice and so are the camp hosts that were there at the time. Highly recommend and it’s roughly 40 min to the valley.
