Great site. There is river close by for swimming and is walking distance to many of the trail heads in Yosemite Valley. The only issue we had wasn't with the campgrounds it was with neighboring campers who refuse to keep their dogs on leashes. I have camped many times in the valley and am a Yosemite Conservancy volunteer. Camping in the valley is usually amazing. Having random dogs running through your campsite at any given time wrecks the whole thing. Hearing them constantly barking at other dogs throughout the day got old fast. Leash laws need to be enforced. Keep your dogs tied up to your newly purchased sprinter van.

Park visitors walked through my campsite as soon as the sun came up, in the middle of the night, and all day long to get to the campground bathroom and river. I paid for a week long stay at this site and other members of the public were present in my site more than I was.

Great campground that’s walking distance to the Merced River (bring your bathing suits), Curry Village (definitely rent a bike here or bring your own), and the Vernal Falls trailhead (must hike!). The bathrooms were clean and stocked but there are no showers (check Curry Village for shower availability, it was closed during covid). The double sites are next to the main road so expect headlights flashing into your tent into the late night and the sound of cars passing and doors slamming since there will be cars parked on the side of the street close to the double sites. We’re from the city so it doesn’t bother us at all but if you want more privacy, I’d recommend booking in the center of the campground. Amazing place, I couldn’t ask for anything more perfect.
