Lower Pines DBL-1 campsite was great and the Rangers were helpful. Would have appreciated a notice about the construction going on at the campground though.

Loved our campsite! The view of Half Dome was amazing! The campground was quiet, and our site was huge! It is so convenient to stay in the park. It really facilitated us having the best experience possible at Yosemite.

Great location! Our site had a great view of half dome which we didn’t expect. Fires are only allowed between 5-10pm, so no morning fires which was disappointing. Online it says you can have a charcoal fire at any time but it fails to say it needs to be in a grill you bring yourself, no basic charcoal grills are installed at any of the sites. If you are planning on bringing a hammock they tell you to “pad” the tree to protect the bark. Other than that it was a great campsite, close to lovely trails and the river.

If you are going to Yosemite it helps to stay in the park. Lower Pines site 51 was fairly level and fit our 25 ft RV and tow nicely. Easy access to Curry Village and bus transportation. Use the buses to get around; it’s easy and quick.

Lower Pines was a beautiful campsite, close by many amenities and trailheads. The volunteers also made the community feel kind and warm, and the rules and policies were fair and easy to comprehend. I would definitely come back again!
