close to entrance and check in area, near the Host site, it's a good size campsite with double parking slot, close to river bank with a good view of Half Dome

Dirty restrooms (partially out of service), sinks looked like they had not been cleaned for weeks. No showers. No shade in many sites.
But worst of all was the smoke from the campfires, that massively reduced air quality in the whole valley and lingered in there for the whole next day until the next fires were lit. It seemed like there was fog in the valley the next day,but acually it was the lingering smoke from the campfires. This is not only ruining the camping experience, but also the beauty of this gem of nature for everybod visiting. I'm pretty sure this is even at a point where staying there for several days is a threat to your health, like smoking 1+ packs of cigaretts a day. (Not to mention that all our stuff smelled really bad of smoke for the rest of our trip. Needed to wash all clothes)
Campfires should be strictly regulated or even forbidden to keep yosemite valley a clean and enjoyable place.
My worst US camping experience so far, even though the valley is a beautiful place.

We all loved the experience very lovely experience , just one time one of the rangers young lady came to our campsite a little aggressive about the whole food issue safety with wild Animals , it was about 930 am while a young lady ranger came and asked to put my “coffee container away” I was in my tent putting my baby a sweater . And I left the container out . By the way it was the only thing out along with container with out table utensils but she called it toilettree bag . I politely understand the rules but she aggressively said to put away even though I literally had taken it out like 2 min before . I told her yes I’ll put it away and I continued putting the sweater on And then that’s when she said aggressively to put it away . I went to put it away and then I took it out as soon as she walked away , umm it’s early morning and doesn’t she know peoppenmake coffee ? I seriously was so confused about it it was closed in a container it’s not like i had it in the open air and it was coffee yes there’s a smell , but it’s not like the campsite was abandoned there was ppl there and I was outside it didn’t make any sense whatsoever i carried on and make my coffee :) please train your staff to talk to customers . We totally understand and rules and obey then jsut I think it was over the top . Thank you !

The campsite is beautifully situated with great views of the surrounding cliffs. Only negative thing is the amount of smoke from the campers’ fires during the afternoon and evening. One can barely breathe
