Great site location. Close to the river and within easy walking distance of the restrooms, which made for a really convenient stay. The only downside was that the tent pad sits fairly close to neighboring sites, so there’s less privacy than we’d like, and it gets direct morning sun early, so be ready for an earlier than planned wake up. Overall a solid spot if you don’t mind those two tradeoffs.

Our ranger was freakin' awesome...maybe even the best ever....plus the "Bark Ranger" was super cool too. I would definitely recommend hiking a relatively easy hike...Sentinel Dome....the panoramic view from the top is gorgeous. But since, I'm not really a huge people person...the large quantity of people within the park kind of drove me nuts, as I use the wilderness to get away and reset, but...at least where my son and I went....that is not really possible. But I am sure there are plenty of places in Yosemite that it can happen, we just didn't happen to hit those places.

Brought two of my friends who had never been before, and they had a wonderful time :) We just stayed in the valley and explored the river and meadows to soak up the sights. Cook Meadow has truly the most beautiful view of the Half Dome. Cathedral Beach is beautiful and we spent a lot of time there and at Mirror Lake. If you only have a day or two, just relaxing by or in the water is the best thing in the world.
Campsite was totally great, nabbed a great spot in Upper Pines by the river. Christine who checked us in was so helpful and kind!

Very nicely located campground in Yosemite, nice hikes and great cooling down in the river. However, the firepits are popular so you will be smoked all evening by your neighbors around you! The nice fresh air of the woods is then totally gone :-( We cannot understand that camp fires are allowed in this dry, heatwave, high risk of fire season. And it would be much better for the health of campers to ban the campfires. Do not go to US campgrounds if you are asthmatic!!

Great time with friends but had Rangers come into our campsite in the middle of the night, opening our ice chests looking for possible "Bear Food". Then they stated that all ice chests, even with ONLY ICE, must remain open if not in the "Bear Box" - even in the heat of the day. If the Rangers want to keep people and food safe from Bears - then relocate them !!!! Stop harassing millions of people who visit Yosemite !!!
