North Pines Campground in Yosemite offers a beautiful setting with convenient access to the Merced River and well-maintained facilities. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the proximity to hiking trails and shuttle services. Great location - both the campground and the spot. Close to restroom and easy exit in vehicle. The nearby river is a scenic hike just off the campground. Camp hosts were friendly and informative. Cons are the dense number of campers who wish to have campfires (with poor wood an technique). Maintenance of restrooms was lacking.

Very disappointing to see so many unoccupied campsites in this valuable resource due to no- show reservations - please work to allow use these campsites. For example a no-show, eg fails to cancel and free the site - cannot make new reservations within the calendar year.

Wasn’t ready to leave the Yosemite Valley, so checked for any cancellations that same morning. Someone had cancelled, last minutes leaving site 506 open for one night. I snagged it so fast!
I would easily argue it’s the most desirable site. You face the river/falls on one side and half dome on the other.
Volunteers who checked us in were very friend. The campground itself was clean and orderly. Will definitely be back.

The campground itself is nice, once you are able to find it. Yosemite should place more signage directing backpackers to the campground, beginning with bus stop 18. And the camp host and ranger could be a little less obtrusive when they are going around checking for proof of payment, which in my experience they did around 10 pm which is the time many people have fallen asleep or are about to. Hearing someone poking around your tent with a flashlight is a bit off putting. Otherwise, the sites are nice, plenty of bathrooms (pit toilets), and it's fairly close to the shuttle once you know the path.

Our favorite campground! The site was large enough for our big tent with plenty of shade. Gorgeous views

Had a great view of El Capitan and watched someone rock climb it! Close to trails, a beautiful river, Curry Village and shuttle stops. Highly recommend!

Yosemite is incredible. Too much to see and do that you need a week or more to do it all. We loved our time out here. With that said, the campground spaces are a little tight and there was also lots of overgrown brush around the campsite. Not all bad though. The general campground is clean and well maintained and the bathrooms were generally very clean throughout our stay which was great! Also the rangers here were very kind and helpful.

September is lovely; leaves changing color and still ideal weather. North Pines is always a great spot to camp and we all had a great time.
My only "really??" moment was the aggro rangers who tagged us for leaving an uncut watermelon on our table for a few hours at lunch. They were still good dudes though. Can't wait to come back (and won't leave any mid-day watermelons out) :)
