Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8,600 feet. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

My wife and I tent camped 4 nights within the Tuolumne CG. We enjoyed it immensely! When we checked in at the campground entrance station, we felt welcomed by the friendly, knowledgeable park staff. We were directed to an outstanding campsite. I might say, there is a lot of chatter within the national park system to have contractors oversee the campgrounds. We feel this would be a huge mistake. So, Yosemite, please stay the course by continuing to have your very competent Park Rangers operate the campgrounds.

This section of Yosemite is incredibly beautiful. It’s less crowded and the hiking is spectacular!

Your campground reservation system is a mess. Most people would like to choose their favorite campsite if it is available. Why is that so hard to implement? Also, the 7am reservation period (in CA) is extremely stressful and ridiculous! Does anyone like to sit at their computer waiting for the clock to turn to 7am so they can push a button?? It's an awful experience.
I suggest looking at RESERVECALIFORNIA.COM. Their system uses a rolling date to reserve, and you can always pick your campsite (with pictures even!) if it is available. They have recently changed to this system and I think it is fabulous. Very clear and easy to use.
That said, most of the people I've dealt with are friendly and helpful. But their options are limited.
and ...Nothing can take away the awesome beauty of Tuolumne Meadows, no matter how frustrating the process may be.

Great time at toulumne meadows. Rangers are friendly and helpful. Stayed a few days before the camp closed for winter so not too many activities going on. Will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at Tuolumne Meadows, the weather was blue skies and gorgeous. One thing we liked the most was it felt far less congested and busy compared to down around Yosemite Valley. If you're looking for an easy, relaxing walk go walk the Meadows. They are beautiful and full of wildlife and flowers. The campground was nice, we just did a walk-up in the morning and were lucky to get the same spot for a couple of days. If you have some extra time, go for a drive down to Lee Vining, it is a beautiful drive and you can check out Mono Lake while you're there (AND find Cell Phone Coverage if needed). We will DEFINITELY be returning!

Excellent: Dana Circle campfires, rangers both interpretative & administrative.
Excellent: Presentations at Parsons Lodge
Not good: bear boxes at campsites are too small, too low to the ground, and 1 box is NOT enough.
Not good: toilets in restrooms frequently overflow.

Making reservations for 14 consecutive nights at Tuolumne Meadows campsites is nearly impossible in a single attempt. We can get a reservation for 2 or 3 days during first 20 minutes recreation.gov is open then we must monitor their website for next 5 months for availability. Anyone who has stayed at TM wants to return!

Has no electrics, bathroom has single light, pretty dark, no showers. Very simple and beautiful. Small camping equipment shop and café around the corner. Bear habitat. Need to store food etc in container outside at night. 1 hr drive from yosemite valley.
