What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Excellent campground, clean toilets, good water source, spaced out campgrounds, big bear lockers to store enough food. Beautiful location and away from 120. All in all a nice pleasant experience.

Pros: The site was clean and spacious. The rangers were kind and helpful. The bathrooms and water were everywhere we needed them to be.
Cons: no soap for hand washing or drying ability in the bathrooms. No running water at the outdoor dish water flush to rinse soap from bucket

New bear boxes and fire rings. If I only scheduled enough days to adjust to altitude. Never a problem in my youth not so much now.

So happy that the campground is back open. Updated parking pads with gravel material. A loop has been redone and an H loop has been added? or improved.

Staff was great. Campground well laid out. The restroom was fitting for the area and beautifully designed. Needs more toilet paper. My husband and I worked in Yosemite for more than 30 years each. There is no place in the world like Yosemite.

Loved the flushing toilets and facilities. It's a pretty large campground with lots of one-way loops. I love how close it is to all the hiking trails.

Many of the campsites have been located relatively far from the facilities (restrooms). This causes campers to walk back and forth on relatively narrow road between the two and share the road with the vehicles. Not a very safe experience especially during the dark hours.
Otherwise a great place to stay at.

Tuolumne Meadows is heaven! I literally choke up with emotion as every one of my senses is awash in majestic beauty - the peaceful meadow on my left, Lembert Dome straight ahead and Tuolumne Meadows camp store on my right filled with backpackers enjoying a well deserved burger and picking up supplies and news as a stop on the PCT. Even though the campground was full, it was quiet and serene allowing for nighttime star gazing while our glowing fire slowly faded to ash. Not one bear did we see during the week we were there, but a squawky stellar jay made sure we were up at 6:00 am sharp! An early afternoon return to our campsite, we stumbled upon a family of deer grazing through the C loop campsites. The buck checked us out - we kept our distance - decided we weren’t a threat, and continued to graze in peace. Truly an opportunity to commune with nature. Tuolumne Meadows is truly heaven on earth - so happy to christen its grand reopening.
