What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Loved camping here - we had a great time and enjoyed the quiet. I do wish they would be more specific on the website when booking in the dog-friendly sites that dogs are ONLY allowed on the pavement, that threw a curveball at us when we arrived.
The sites were clean and restrooms all clean and well maintained. We love the easy access to all the trails and fishing nearby, it was such a nice experience, we can't wait to go back!

The actual camping experience and my interaction with the NPS staff at Tuolumne Meadows was excellent. The campgrounds are wonderful and the staff was very willing to work with me to sort out some logistical changes.
What's difficult is getting the reservation through Recreation.gov. I fully understand that one needs to have all of your choices sorted out and be ready to click on "reserve" the moment that the window opens for the next block of reservations. What's is troubling is when the website then goes down for an indeterminant time leaving you unsure whether you have a reservation or should keep trying at some unknown later time. I would think the Recreation.gov should now be aware that they are going to get a deluge of reservations in that very short time as each reservation window opens and find a way to cope with it.

The ranger campfires were top notch, complete with singalongs and storytelling. Our walk through the meadow was beautiful and quiet, the little cafe tent was a great plus for breakfast. Campsite was large and easy to back in the trailer.

It's all about the wonderful RANGERS!!!! They are marvelous, talented, smart, adventurous people and fine teachers. That's why I love Tuolumne.

One of the most beautiful areas of Yosemite! I have been visiting Yosemite for over 50 years, and I continue to visit year after year! After years of camping in the meadows with my family, my adult children are now showing their children the wonders and beauty of Yosemite.

Great place away from all the craziness in yosemite valley. Close to the valley down hill with awsome views along the way. Theres also a gas station half way down to the valley in case you have to fill up. The camping was great. Not alot of noise close to the river where tje water is excellent. Great place to hang out picnic and be in the water. Diffenitly will stay here again

Tuolumne Meadows Campground is a fantastic destination, and that alone should warrant a 5-star rating, but there were some things that knocked it down a couple of pegs. My biggest issue was with the guy running the check in kiosk at the gate. I went to Tuolumne for just one night, on a motorcycle, as the first stay of a week long ride and camp vacation. I pulled in mid-afternoon. The guy at the kiosk was friendly and efficient, and asked me what kind of site I would prefer, seeing as how I was on a bike. I asked for something as flat as possible, and close to a bathroom would be appreciated. Hey, I'm a middle aged man, so that's important to me. I was assigned a site, given a map, and sent on my way. The site was located in a far upper loop, was on a pretty steep hillside, and the closest restroom was about 1/4 mile away. These things are petty gripes, I know, but riding through the campground later in the day showed a large number of other sites that had much more of what I'd requested.
I considered going back to the front and swapping sites, but decided that it wasn't worth the hassle. Life's too short.

The subject mastery of the guides/rangers is crazy good. I was stunned to learn so much. Park was very clean as were the trails. Highly recommend this part of Yosemite over the lower valley. So beautiful and I will go back for certain.

Staying at Tuolumne Meadows was an amazing experience! My family and I enjoyed the spacious campsites and their proximity to the John Muir Trail. What a treat to see the convoy of donkeys and the trail master on his regular trek to the High Sierra Base Camp. On our hike we saw such beautiful waterfalls and fauna that we were snapping pictures every few minutes. We also enjoyed having a talk with your interpretive guides at "Parsons Lodge" as well as visiting the Store after our full day's hike. Thank you!
