About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Awesome site. Kind of on the smaller side though.

Really good camping experience. Love the space and layout of the sites. Our site in section C was in easy walking distance to facilities such as the store and grill. The provision for washing (persons as well as utensils) remains basic (just cold water). It does not take long to adapt, however. Overall, just great.

Our site H039 was a walk in site. The group of campsites here were newly made as the campground has been remodeled.
We could not find a flat spot to pitch our tent. They basically put a table and bear box there but failed to do any kind of landscaping. The ground was sloping and very uneven with not one spot suitable for a tent. Also the sites are extremely close together. We didn't even stay, it was that bad.

This campground is worse than trying to camp at a a state fair if you go over a weekend. Very disappointing how close to the road the group sites are and the additional sound that carries. I unfortunately heard a baby screaming for an hour and a half through the night. It was probably several loops away but everything echoes. Proximity to Great hikes is the best thing this campground has going for it.

Group Campsite B is awful. It’s all torn up, very little shade. There is no way that you can fit 30 people there. No showers, bathrooms are inadequate for the amount of people in the campground.

This is one of the most popular campground in CA. You guys can do better, especially after shutting it down and renovating it.

If you want to really enjoy all that Tuolomne Meadows has to offer, DO NOT bring your dog. There is literally nowhere you can go, but walk on the paved roads, sidewalks, parking lots and campground roads. Much different than in Yosemite Valley, where there are numerous roads and paths that are paved/developed and dogs are allowed to walk on leash with their humans to many of the Park’s attractions.
The new and improved Tuolomne Meadows campground was nicely set up, but beware of splinters on the new picnic tables. Site C016 was nice, but very close to neighbors. Do bring a headlamp or lantern when using the restrooms because there is NO LIGHTING! There are NO HOOKS to hang a towel or toiletry bag either, and no electrical outlets. NPS, please do better.

It was 1.5 hours away from the main visitor center.

Cant do much wrong at Tuolumne Meadows. Campsite G21 was a bit tight to actually fit 6 persons on, but we made it happen.
