About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4 ft. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. The beauty of Yosemite is all around you!
Site 59 was the PERFECT location for us. We were close to the bathrooms (but with no smell), far away from the trash bins (which did have a smell), and we had nobody to one side (so the kids could play soccer during the Works Cup). We were so close to Curry Village, the Nature and Art Center, 3 hikes, and river access.
We have a 23’ trailer (no slides) and it fit next to our vehicle perfectly!
This spot was amazing!

Tom who cleans the bathroom was a bit rude to myself and some other people at the campground. Could hear him from our site being so close to the bathroom.

The sites 200plus are great and if you walk a few steps through the woods you get to the shuttle stop very quickly rather than walking all the way out of the campgrounds.

We had a great time, felt sorry for those entering the park for the day and not able to find a parking place. Too bad the reservation system for this park was removed it would reduce a lot of tension.

The campground was nice and well located. However, there were people at the campsite facing ours playing music and being loud.

Beautiful campground, at first we were a little confused as to why everyone had their tent fly on despite the clear weather, and then the 5-10PM campfire hours rolled around, and the entire campground was filled with smoke from hundreds of guttering fires.
Our lungs were hurting as we lay in our tent with our faces covered waiting for the 10PM fire cutoff. I'm so glad there weren't morning fire hours.
Maybe bring some smoke masks or something to keep from breathing that.
