About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4 ft. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and much more.  Yosemite National Park Campground Reservation Dates  For additional park information, call (209)372-0200 or visit www.nps.gov/yose

What Guests Are Saying

Upper Pines Campground offers a fantastic location in Yosemite Valley, providing easy access to popular trails and attractions, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the spacious and private sites, as well as the beautiful natural surroundings. However, the campground can become overcrowded during peak season, leading to noise and close quarters, and some facilities, like bathrooms, may require better maintenance.

This was easily the worst campsite we’ve stayed at, and honestly, it shouldn’t even be listed as an official site in its current setup. You’re right next to the trash cans, only about 5 ft from the bathrooms, and the bear box isn’t even in the site - it’s basically in the next one over. Because of how close it is to the bathrooms, people are constantly walking straight past you and right through the site to get there. It made it really uncomfortable to even hang out at our own spot, to the point where my family and I tried to stay away as much as possible.

At night, the bathroom lights are so bright that it’s almost impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. The campground really needs to do more to make this area usable. A designated walking path to the bathrooms would keep people from cutting through the sites, and adding a trellis or natural barrier around the bathroom area would give the nearby sites at least some privacy.

If you’re looking for any level of peace or a typical camping experience, I’d strongly recommend picking a different site. The rest of the campground may be great, but this particular spot just doesn’t work for a relaxing stay.

Loved this site! Set up a hammock between two trees with a view of half dome. Parking spot is very flat, many bathrooms all clean. Short walk to curry village and trailheads. Amazing!!

Loved this site! Set up a hammock between two trees with a view of half dome. Parking spot is very flat, many bathrooms all clean. Short walk to curry village and trailheads. Amazing!!

Gostei do camping, fomos de motor home, de 22 pés, vaga não era grande, mas era plana. As outras vagas eram muito próximas. Os banheiro eram bons, limpos, mas não contam com chuveiros.

Overall great experience at the campground. Only thing that was not great is the people that use the handicap parking for the most trail. About 75% of the cars there did not have placards. It was located across the street from our site. Half the people would walk right down the middle of our campground to go use the restroom. The people actually camping on site were great. Tourists visiting the park for the day not soo much.
