About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4 ft. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and much more.  Yosemite National Park Campground Reservation Dates  For additional park information, call (209)372-0200 or visit www.nps.gov/yose

What Guests Are Saying

Upper Pines Campground offers a fantastic location in Yosemite Valley, providing easy access to popular trails and attractions, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the spacious and private sites, as well as the beautiful natural surroundings. However, the campground can become overcrowded during peak season, leading to noise and close quarters, and some facilities, like bathrooms, may require better maintenance.

It was a great location. Spots where very close together but clean and had a table and fire ring with grill top. The bathrooms were typical gross camping bathrooms. No soap to wash hands but toilet paper was present.

Reserving was extremely difficult. Campground was okay and was close to attractions in Yosemite valley.

Reserving was ridiculous. Had to patchwork single nights together for a consecutive stay. The sites are generic enough that it’s not necessary to get a specific site. I think recreation.gov can do a better job. Instead we had to do the “campsite shuffle” every morning, instead of exploring Yosemite.

The site was a little small. I was told I had to park my truck on the asphalt pad and it was a challenge to get it to fit on there. Also the campfire ring was too close to the asphalt pad and the table should have been on the other side or behind more. Trailer doors are on the opposite side of the fire ring. It didn’t make sense. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was nice and helpful.

Campsites were a little close together and we were near the bathroom but location is great and was a short commute to start half dome early in the morning.

It's standard NP campground & site, but the location in the Yosemite NP was fantastic. It was near shuttle stop, Curry Village & welcome center. You could even get a shower in nearby Curry Village.
