About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4 ft. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and much more.  Yosemite National Park Campground Reservation Dates  For additional park information, call (209)372-0200 or visit www.nps.gov/yose

What Guests Are Saying

Upper Pines Campground offers a fantastic location in Yosemite Valley, providing easy access to popular trails and attractions, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the spacious and private sites, as well as the beautiful natural surroundings. However, the campground can become overcrowded during peak season, leading to noise and close quarters, and some facilities, like bathrooms, may require better maintenance.

Site 83 has no shade, right next to the toilets so you will get a lot of people walking through your site, i mean A LOT! Other than that, its just nice to be able to camp in the valley.

Well the place is my favorite. But facilities need a better attention. Although the quite time is between 10pm-6am, some guests kept talking loud till 2am in the morning. It is incredibly hard to book a spot. It should have more strict rules for guests as well.

The campsite is fine and close to the bathrooms which is a positive and negative. It gets a lot of traffic. No cell coverage at the site itself but can walk 5-7 minutes and get a little signal.

Wonderful staff found a last minute cancellation. Easy to locate, parking is right on the site. Bathrooms were clean, access to fresh water was easy and quiet hours observed. A magical, beautiful experience!

It’s a pretty tightly, packed campground that’s for sure. But, given the surroundings and the proximity to other more pleasing features of the valley, it’s probably a fair compromise. The restrooms could use some attention.

Centrally located, spot is next to a group spot so be aware of that , but I had no issues. Took a beautiful walk along the water to Mist trail just over the bridge that was lovely! Bathrooms were clean, space as well. Always a good experience at Upper Pines.

It is so smoky!!!! Even sleeping in my car, my eyes were watering from how much campfire smoke hangs in the air. Please people, do not gather wood for your fires. Use store bought, dry wood and please learn how to make your fire less smoky. I don't know how everyone is sleeping in tents. Feels like I smoked a pack of cigarettes by morning.
