What Guests Are Saying
Lakeview Gunnison offers stunning views and excellent fishing opportunities, making it a popular choice for campers. Many reviews highlight the cleanliness of the campsites and restrooms, as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the camp hosts. However, some concerns have been raised regarding the condition of the roads and water access, as well as overcrowding from dispersed camping and larger RVs, which may detract from the overall experience.

The camper/vehicle rules make no sense and should be eliminated for non-electric sites. if eight people can occupy a site, then it does not matter what kind of campers or vehicles they arrive in. If the rule is 8 people maximum per site, then the number of vehicles does not matter as long as they fit in the designated parking area. 3 vehicles for 8 people camping together is not unusual. If they are within the site's designated parking area, which can be marked easily, then stop micromanaging the types of vehicles!

Campground is beautiful. Great views. Camp here every year. The problem I have is the road in the campground have very large potholes. Some of the roads it is very hard to drive around. A couple of the roads the trees are hanging out - so our camper got scratched. Be aware. The one thing that was a pain is you had to keep opening and closing the gate because they had cattle in the area. Kind of annoying.

We spent two days at Lakeview Gunnison in early September. Many of the campsites have wonderful views of Taylor Reservoir. There is access to OHV trails, fishing and hiking in the area. Our electricity was clean and reliable. Note: The campsites that have electricity have 50/30/15 amp outlets. The descriptions in Recreation.gov say they are 15 amp but should be changed to show all three outlets are available. There is no dump station but there is a pay dump station on the road to Tincup (about 20 minutes/9 miles away). The hosts are friendly and keep the facilities clean.

Fantastic campground. Restrooms were lighted at night and very clean. Water was available and power was perfect. The campground hosts were extremely helpful! Vistas hurt the eyes and stirred the soul. We had a wonderful time.
