Located in the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, Lottis Creek Campground is at an elevation of 8.6 ft above sea level. On the shores of Lottis Creek, this newly remodeled campground is a perfect getaway for anyone that loves the outdoors. Nestled in lodgepole pines down the Taylor River Canyon, Lottis Creek Campground is great for anglers, hikers, bikers, and four-wheeler enthusiasts.

We were heading from Denver, Colorado over to Telluride, Colorado and randomly picked this campground. We stayed a total of five nights and found plenty to do with exploring cottonwood pass, shore fishing at nearby Taylor Reservoir ( we caught quite a few), and enjoying a hike near the campground. The facilities were extremely clean. Although we did not have cell service at the campsite, it was a short drive up to the reservoir to get adequate service.

The campground hosts at Lottis Creek are awesome; so friendly and helpful! Campground and toilets were clean. Beautiful setting. You can hike up the creek right from the campground.

We have been camping at Lottis Campground over Labor Day weekend for the last 5 years. Out of all the camping we do in Colorado, it is our favorite. The host is always onsite, very friendly, and available to help with anything you might need. The bathrooms are cleaned daily, and well stocked with toilet paper. We look forward to more visits in the future.

Campsite was very nice. The restrooms were clean and stocked. Our host was helpful and the location was off the highway. We enjoyed our camping experience at Lottis.

Lottis Creek is one of our all time favorite campgrounds. The location in the Taylor River valley just below the reservoir is ideal. The campground was updated to have electric service, which is rare is a NF CG. We found the facilities and campground itself to be extremely clean. The vault toilets even smelled good - a miracle for sure. The host of the Union Park Loop does an exceptional job keeping the vault toilets clean.

Getting There
From Gunnison, Colo., travel north on Highway 135 for 10 mi to Almont. At intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742, take Rt. 742 for 16.7 mi to campground sign. Turn right into campground.
Highway access
Lottis Creek Campground is accessible via State Highway 135, which leads north from Gunnison. The campground is located approximately 16.7 miles from the intersection of State Rt. 135 and County Rt. 742.
Policies & Rules
General
- Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY.
- Late Arrivals: campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
- FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
- Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with host for payment and where to park.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- If using an Interagency Senior Pass or an Interagency Access pass, holder of this pass must be present with card and a picture ID for the park to honor the discount. The Interagency Annual Pass is not accepted.
- Opening and closing dates are weather permitting, please call 928-537-8888 for more information.
