What Guests Are Saying
Lottis Creek Campground is praised for its excellent location, friendly and attentive camp hosts, and exceptionally clean facilities, including the vault toilets. Guests enjoy spacious and well-maintained campsites, with many nearby recreational opportunities like fishing and hiking. However, concerns were raised about deep potholes in the campground roads and issues with the dump station water supply, which need addressing.

I love this campground! This is our second year staying there. It is quiet, and peaceful. There are hiking trails within walking distance, and more a short drive away. Last year we rented an ATV at Tin Cup, and had a blast. ATVs are available in several places nearby. It is an hour from Crested Butte, and about two hours from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, which was amazing, and well worth the drive!

This is a great campground, I’ve stayed here before and my brother has stayed here before several times. Our site easily accommodated our two vehicles (I have a rooftop tent, my brother and his wife have a truck topper setup) and we also had a shelter we put up over the picnic table. It did rain off and on during this trip, but there weren’t many bugs and we were still able to get out and about. My brother and wife did some gold panning on the Taylor River and we did some sightseeing and hiking in the area. Restrooms were clean and well-stocked. We had some minimal cell service so could send text messages but not great data service (Verizon).

Great campground and the host does a great job cleaning the toilets.
The only problem is the campground driveway has several bad holes that can and will damage your vehicle or rv. The host said it has been reported to the area manager but nothing has been done. When the holes are filled with water you have no idea how deep they are and they are only going to get worse.

The campsite was well-maintained, but the rule regarding the number of "camping units" seems unreasonable. Instead of limiting the number of units, the Forest Service should consider restricting the number of guests per site. We had only 4 people with a small 2-person tent and a 19-ft, 2-person trailer, yet we were told we exceeded the limit. Meanwhile, others with much larger RVs and more than 6 people were within the rules simply because they had only one RV.
