The campground host was very helpful. He told us about several hikes in the area and we enjoyed them all. We would not have known about the Vista Point Trail near Cordova Pass. The views were well worth the drive and short hike.

We did not get the site that we thought we would, the site that we booked was two small for our travel trailer, so we took the only other site that was open, but it did not have a picnic table there, also we were not aware that the entire campground had lost almost all of its trees to some kind of a disaster. So, we ended up leaving a day early. And have no thought of going back anytime soon.

Beautiful location! Well maintained and very helpful camp hosts. All in all I highly recommend. We had space #5 and were very happy. Nice big bear boxes too.

This beautiful campground was devastated by a storm that came through couple of years ago. The winds were very strong- not sure if it's due to lack of trees or weather. The fishing was GREAT! The hosts were wonderful!!!

Had a wonderful time at bear lake campground in the Summer. Fishing was good. The campsite was clean of trash. The bathrooms was impeccably clean. The camp host was so kind and helpful. I really hope he decides to return next season. We will definitely return.

General
- Due to a high wind storm back in 2022, many trees here were blown down. In the Spring of 2024 the USFS cleared the down trees. Today Bear Lake Campground has less trees than before, but the grass is starting to comeback along with the flowers. Also note that because there are fewer trees in this campground it can be "very windy" at times. Please be prepared for this when you camp here.
