Overall, it was a nice getaway stay in the C7 cabin. However, a few things to note to make it even better. 1) It was in the 90s there outside so the air conditioner was on 24/7 and barely cooling the whole place. 2) the bedroom was very hard to cool off, so we had to maneuver ways to get outside airflow through the cabin - and unfortunately, opening the windows was not a good option because the cabin is on a cliff that overlooks two intersecting highways - and there are 2 rubble-strips just below the cabin that cars run over while passing that keep a constant noise resonating within the cabin. It was quite frustrating getting a good night's sleep, unfortunately - because we love the fresh air at night. 3) The internet TV was unusable because of the constant 'buffering' of streaming shows. So we weren't able to watch anything. 4) The hot water heater is powerful, and actually is in the kitchen area in a cupboard, but it heats the toilet basin through the wall - and if you keep the toilet seat down, you get a ring of moisture on the seat - so if you don't want to sit in condensation while using the toilet, you need to keep the lid open at all times. 5) suggestion: don't paint the cabins black when the temps can get into the 90s+ - it makes it very difficult to cool down and keep the cabin cool. 6) we appreciated the 'mirror' coating on the big windows for privacy. 7) the 'one door' on the shower enabled lots of water to spray out onto the bathroom floor. ****

We really enjoyed our stay. We had fun. It's very nice, it's clean. Kids had so much fun. So many spots and all the spots were really good spots, There's a lot of stuff for the kids games ,playground jumping pad and swimming pool, a hottub. And the staff was very, very, very nice as well as other campers.

One down fall they mentioned fishing in their accommodations. And there is no fishing. There is, but not close close by the campsite. It's miles away!

We'll definitely be back..

My family and I stayed 5 nights and thought it was the perfect spot to have an extended stay with kids! We booked Cabin 7 and loved the privacy to the right of the cabin where we could enjoy grilling and dinner at the picnic table with a fantastic view. The road being right in front/below the cabin is not ideal, but the views and amenities definitely outweighed that. My boys (6 and 10) loved the pool, it was so nice to be able to relax after exploring the Royal Gorge area during the day. Cabins were clean and a good size for a family of 4 with younger kids - I wouldn't stay with 4 adults, I am guessing that would feel a little crowded.

We stayed at the Royal Gorge RV Resort & Cabins for 3 nights last week (June 2026) and it was INCREDIBLE! We stayed in Cabin 1 (Peakview Cabin) and it was everything we could have wanted for our family of 4. Our two boys (ages 5 and 2) LOVED the view and the a-frame style of this luxury cabin. The kitchenette was perfect for making family meals and I appreciated having a laundry room available on the property to catch up on laundry during our 8-day roadtrip from Illinois. The property also had a great playground and outdoor games that the boys loved, and we didn’t even get to the beautiful pool! The entire property was updated, family friendly, peaceful and clean! Our cabin included a welcome gift and was comfortable and clean. The staff were kind, timely, and available whenever we needed them. I was so impressed!!! This place is truly a gem nestled in the mountains near Cañon City, Colorado. We will ABSOLUTELY stay again! Thank you for an amazing experience!

This place is amazing! Extremely family friendly, with giant chess, connect four, playground and bounce bubble! We didn't have to worry about the kids running around or our dog. Even has a dog park! Our site was beautiful, well maintained and the on-site bathrooms are clean and the showers are so nice! We are sad we have to go home but already have another trip booked! This will always be our go-to for camping by the Royal Gorge. Added bonus, an amazing view of the bridge on the whole property! Thank you for the wonderful stay and memories!
