Would not recommend. Office only open til 5p. There are several better in the area. Very rude experience with the man that works there. Woman always had to call the man to find answers to things. You have to pay to take showers. $1 for 8 minutes. Would not take reservation for only one night.
Only thing nice was the view. One night on way to Colorado.

First, good luck finding the entrance. Some decided to design it like a maze, along with SIX speed bumps in the driveway.

And if you're into being treated like a nuisance, you've found your spot. The welcome I got at check-in came with a side of sarcasm and a laundry list of rules.

When the Wi-Fi didn’t work, I flagged the guy down. His response? “Just wait a couple minutes,” like the signal needed to warm up, or something? I let it go, because he clearly seemed irritated by the question. But the second time I asked, the tone shifted fast — irritated, defensive, and condescending. I got hit with a rant about how “The wi-fi works, SIR!. trees block Wi-Fi” and the gem: “Do you want sun, shade, or Wi-Fi?”

I stayed calm, and said I'd try my starlink first, and sorry for bothering him. To this he finally snapped, raising his voice and offering a full refund — not as a solution, but as a challenge. It felt like he was itching for a fight over a basic question about a service they advertise. Even had the nerve to say I was the one with the attitude. no where else to go, so I swallowed the pride and said sorry, no problems here.

I stayed only one night (though I paid for two) and didn't leave my RV, just to avoid further interaction.

I’ve stayed at hundreds of campgrounds — this was the FIRST time I'd been treated this way by staff.

Looking further through other reviews, I can now see this kind of response isn’t unusual here. Not sure how this place gets a Good Sam endorsement??

Ego, immaturity, and volatility - 5 stars

What a great place to stay for a week, a month or even the summer!!

The park is located on the front range of the cool Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Royal View caters to mature adult RVer’s and is ideal for retirees like myself. Large tree lined pull throughs make it easy to set up and establish camp for full size Class A’s or Fifth Wheelers like mine. I love that this park is away from the highway making it feel secluded and really quiet.

There is so much to do in or out of the park; walking paths, pickle ball, shuffleboard, swimming, hot tubing in park or fly fishing, rafting, River Walk, Tunnel Drive hiking, Royal Gorge Route railroad, Skyline Drive and even dinosaur foot prints.

Thanks Todd, Angela and Sammie I’ll be back soon.

I strongly advise against staying here. This establishment is not worth your time or money. The owner demonstrates a complete lack of respect for guests and behaves unprofessionally. If you arrive late, entry is denied, and upon arrival, you are met with complaints about the inconvenience you've caused him, followed by a reprimand. Refunds are not offered under any circumstances. Guests are inundated with an extensive list of rules and face constant harassment during their stay, leading to an uncomfortable environment that forces you to retreat to your camper. I had booked four nights but only stayed one, opting to sleep in my camper without setting up, as I was concerned about potential conflicts with the owner. I relocated to the RV park across the street the following day, and it was a completely different and much more pleasant experience.

What a wonderful campground! We had originally planned to only stay 3 days but we extended our stay for 4 more nights. It was so quiet and peaceful with good walking. In the evening you could see the Royal Gorge Bridge from the campground. Beautiful views! We played shuffleboard and miniature golf and the amazing thing was all the equipment was already there for us to use. No having to go into the office to check it out. Todd, the owner, was so helpful and accommodating. Told us where to go to get fresh Colorado corn and peaches and even had a gasket for our shower head so it wouldn’t leak. We loved this campground and hope to come back again.
