Secluded campsite with nice off parking pitches for tents and great fire pits and benches. Bins empties each day and the toilet was clean and filled with toilet paper. Couldnt have asked for more.

Among the best of walk in campgrounds! Isolated, gorgeous, and right next to running water.

We LOVE camping here!!! We have never before had any complaints - until now. The bathroom had a huge fly infestation, it was noted almost everyday by staff on the comments section of the cleaning report - some fly paper traps might have helped. More importantly we were not informed ahead of time that there was NO water available except all the way up at Maroon Lake (the spigot at Silver Queen was also out of commission) In previous years there was always a large water tank in the campground. All that being said we still love camping at Silver Bar - love the river and only tents!

I was in spot 4 which is the most exposed spot. You can see the parking lot (and they can see you!) from all spots at this site. Also, right next to the vault toilet, so that could be a good thing or a bad thing. There is a nice little path down to the river with a mini "beach" if you want to bring a chair down and sit by the river. The bear food locker was very convenient, I was able to free up quite a lot of space in the tent using the storage provided.
I didn't understand the parking situation for the Maroon Bells, so I also needlessly reserved a spot on the shuttle. When you check in at the welcome center, you pay an extra $10 for parking. This gives you a hang tag that allows you access to all parking areas in the bells. No need to reserve anything or take the shuttle.

Beautiful sites close to Maroon Creek. Large fire pit, table, and toilet available. Hikes at Maroon Lake are 5 miles away.
We will be back!

The site was great, it was clean, the bathrooms were clean, I liked it a lot. My only complaint is that the plan I had confirmed with the Aspen-Sopris Ranger station over the phone turned out to be not allowed according to the Maroon Bells check in staff. I planned on checking into a first come site on a Thursday, so that I could hold it for 3 days and guarantee a place to stay that night and the following Saturday (which would have been more difficult to secure on a Saturday). My group was going to be elsewhere on Friday night, but would have paid for 3 nights. I made the reservation at Silver Bar as a back up plan. Despite what the Aspen-Sopris Ranger station told me, we were unable to hold a site unattended. Just something to keep in mind if you are trying to make arrangements remotely.
