Silver Queen Campground offers a beautiful and tranquil escape near Maroon Bells, with well-maintained, clean facilities and scenic surroundings. Most sites provide privacy and access to the soothing sound of Maroon Creek, enhancing the camping experience. While there are some concerns about water availability and occasional noise from nearby hikers, the overall positive ambiance and exceptional location make it a highly recommended spot for campers.

Great small campground near Maroon Bells. Clean restrooms and sites reasonably separated. One of my favorites.

Great location with a 6 minute drive to the Maroon Lake Trailhead. All 5 reservable sites have their advantages. #1 is off on its own near the entrance. #s 2/3 offer waterfront access to Maroon Creek. #4 is next to the restroom. Pristine vault toilets by the way. #5 seemed spacious with more natural shade and partial view of the tops of the Bells. Less one star since the water was off in early June even though two Staff members said weather conditions were good and that their technician would turn it on. Never happened. Had to go to the trailhead to get water near the hard stand restrooms. The water dispenser is at the base of the water fountain. We’d return if we could get lucky enough for a reservation. Get yours 6 months out!

It was great having a campsite inside the entry gate. There was always a parking space at Maroon Lake. The walks were well visited when the buses unloaded every 30 minutes but visitors dispersed quickly. The facilities are so well planned and designed.

Small campground with good privacy. Natural white noise from the creek is fantastic! Not so quiet but had a great sleep with the help of the sound

Our beautiful site was nestled in Aspen trees near the flowing creek. The vault toilets were clean.
The East Maroon Bells trail was within walking distance. An overall, great two days in the National Forest.

We stayed at Silver Queen site #2. The river next to the site was loud (in a lovely way) with the spring run off. Love the secluded-ness of each campsite. Bathrooms were spotless! Loved seeing all the bikes on the road. Can't wait to come back. We were smart to go before the buses started running for the season so it was not crowded at all.
